Since the eighties we have carried the beautiful dolls of Pauline Bjonness-Jacobsen. Her company, known as Dolls by Pauline and recently The Pauline Gift Company, has always been well known for quality vinyls and in more recent years quality porcelain dolls at affordable prices. Pauline, who has since deceased, was the founder and the inspiration behind most of the beautiful dolls they offer today. Her family's nearly thirty year passion for creating award-winning designs continued for many years through her son..

	Isabelle Rose Sold out Category: Paulinettes Description: Isabelle Rose was nominated in January for Doll Magazine's "Award of Excellence" during the IDEX show in Orlando, Florida and in February 2006 by Doll Reader Magazine for its prestigious "Doty - Doll of the Year" award! Isabelle Rose was one of only 5 dolls in the world nominated in its category. Isabelle Rose is based on the true story of how Pauline recently found in an antique lacquered trunk the traditional Norwegian 'bunad' that was initially made for and worn by Isabelle's great-grandmother, Alfhild, when she was four years old. During a recent visit to Pauline's home, Isabelle Rose proudly wore the beautiful costume and imagined herself taking part in a traditional Norwegian festival. In Norway the 'bunad' was an important part of every girl's wardrobe and would be proudly passed down within the family. The skirt is black, the bodice is red and it has a white blouse and apron with beautiful cotton laces and exquisite bead embroidery on the cap, belt and bodice. Her name in Chinese means 'bright' and she shares the same name as the wonderful giant panda, Ling Ling, that China presented as a gift to the United States in 1972. Pauline's first love in art was drawing and painting and her favorite topic was children. Her earliest dolls were adorable little cloth dolls with hand-painted and embroidered expressions. When Pauline created her first collection of vinyl children, Ling Ling's delicate features and sweet expression generated tremendous appeal both in the United States and Europe.
